General Description

Safarilands Game Reserve is a relatively new Game Reserve nestled at the foothills of the malaria free Waterberg Mountains just 40km from Lephalale. Containing three of the “Big Five” namely White Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo, and then to include Hippo and Crocodile to make up the dangerous seven. Guests can choose from a variety of lodges to cater for their every need and within an affordable budget. Land marked by the flat-topped Ga-Bobididi Hills, Safarilands is well- known from every direction in the Limpopo Province.

The Bushman San Village tented camp is a unique independently managed camp on the Game Reserve which specialises in walking safaris and the culture and lifestyle of the Bushman San peoples. Raised on a small kopjie and looking at the distant Bobidi Hills.

The camp consists of four self-catering comfortable Hemingway style tents, central ablutions, kitchen area and dining room. The tents have stone floors, thatch roofs covering the tents to keep cool in the hot summer months and a large open boma for evening dinners round the fire.

Optional activities are guided walks; clay pigeon shooting; bow and arrow lessons and boma dinners with two Bushman families or other activities including stargazing; full body massages and game viewing day or night at the waterhole. Our rock pool heated in winter and cool in summer provides the ideal spot for a romantic picnic for two. 
Four by 4-sleeper Hemmingway-style safari tents. Self-catering and catering on request. Each Tent has its own verandah, open boma and fireplace, lamps, bedding, crockery, cutlery & cooking utensils, running water with separate ablutions - heated “donkey” style. Camp Facilities include a small rock pool, small curio shop, limited bar, central bush kitchen, refrigeration, an open boma and upper deck dining room. Firewood is available at R45 a pack. A once-off conservation fee is payable at R 35.00pp

Travelling to/from Pretoria or Johannesburg (O.R.Tambo International Airport) (Estimated travelling time 3-4 hours)
o From Johannesburg Stay on the N1 North to Pietersburg (Polokwane)
o Take the Modimolle (Nystroom) turn off at the Kranskop Toll Plaza
o Travel straight through the town of Modimolle to Vaalwater on the R33
o Once through Vaalwater, there is a right turn to Lephalale (Ellisras) R33
o You will hit a T-junction to turn right into town of Lephalale (Ellisras), drive out of town about 1km.
o You will find the R518 to Marken turn-off to your right.
o Travel on the Marken road for + - 40 km. You will then find the Safariland’s Game Reserve entrance on your right, two very large signs, a thatched roof and steel sliding gate
